FivePoint Highway and Interchange Improvements in North Los Angeles County

Private developer FivePoint is introducing numerous commercial and residential developments in North Los Angeles County. Improvement projects are being delivered to ensure I-5 and SR-126 can accommodate traffic demands.

Advanced Civil Technologies has partnered with private developer FivePoint to improve I-5 and SR-126 in anticipation of multiple planned developments in and around Valencia, CA. FivePoint’s plans include both commercial and residential developments, introducing over 11 million square feet of planned commercial space and over 20,000 new homes in the region. These developments will directly impact both I-5 and SR-126, introducing significant additional traffic in the coming years. As a result, improvements to both highways and highway access are necessary. Advanced Civil Technologies has partnered with FivePoint to develop improvements that will allow local transportation infrastructure to meet future operational demand.

I-5/Rye Canyon Road Hook Ramps Relocation Project PEER and PS&E

Our team is leading the delivery of the PEER and PS&E phases for the relocation of the I-5/Rye Canyon Road interchange hook ramps that serve SB I-5. The project includes the removal of the existing SB ramps, construction of widened hook ramps 500 feet to the north, and construction of a new signalized intersection at the termini of the relocated ramps. The proposed design will minimize right-of-way impacts to adjacent commercial properties. Additionally, the improvements have been designed in concert with the I-5 North Managed Lanes Widening PS&E, ensuring there are no throwaway costs between the projects. Advanced Civil Technologies has been responsible for providing project management, roadway plans, utility plans, signing and striping, electrical plans, the TMP, and the Storm Water Data Report (SWDR).

SR-126 Corridor Improvements PSR-PDS

Our team led the development of the PSR-PDS for improvements to SR-126 in anticipation of both commercial and residential developments. The project proposed to widen the highway from west of Chiquito Canyon Road to west of Commerce Center Drive. Additionally, the project will deliver improvements to various highway intersections and construct a grade-separated interchange at the SR-126/Long Canyon Road intersection. Advanced Civil Technologies worked closely with FivePoint and the Caltrans District 7 traffic operations staff to ensure that future operational challenges to the SR-126 corridor were accurately identified. Our team was responsible for providing project management as well as preparing roadway plans, the Drainage Report, the SWDR, and the PSR-PDS.
