I-10 Express Lanes Design-Build Program Management
Already a heavily traveled highway, I-10 is expected to see traffic increases due to population growth in the Inland Empire. Development of express lanes is currently underway to maintain the efficiency of this critical corridor.
I-10 is an important highway in San Bernardino County, facilitating intercounty transportation in addition to serving as a gateway to the rest of the nation. The interstate experiences a high index of commercial traffic, while many travelers use I-10 to access major destinations such as the Ontario Airport and the Ontario Convention Center. Due to population growth throughout Southern California, traffic on I-10 in San Bernardino County is expected to increase by at least 36% by the year 2045.
Advanced Civil Technologies is providing program management for the I-10 Express Lanes Design-Build, which will accommodate additional demand by constructing tolled express lanes in each direction between the San Bernardino/Los Angeles County line and the I-10/I-15 interchange. Additionally, the project will extend auxiliary lanes to provide additional weaving capacity, modify or rebuild eight arterial overcrossings, modify five railroad over/undercrossings, and widen eight freeway-to-freeway connectors.
Our staff is assisting in the management of the project by monitoring the environmental obligations and commitments, developing management plans, preparing technical documents related to funding, supporting a partnering program and the risk management register, and more. Additional responsibilities include assisting the development of toll operation procedures and business rules, providing engineering support, and providing transportation management, including the delivery of construction staging, TMP, and traffic handling plans.
